AUDITIONS FOR RICHARD O'BRIEN'S THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW
Saturday, July 26th at 6pm at Gettysburg Community Theatre
All roles are available and are open to performers of all genders. You must be 18 or older to audition.
Please prepare a ~1 minute cut of a song in the style to the show. Please bring marked sheet music for your audition cut. An accompanist will be provided.
Auditions will also include a movement/dance portion, so please dress accordingly.
Video auditions will be accepted through July 24, 2026. Submission form coming soon!

GENERAL AUDITION & PERFORMER INFO
GCT has volunteer, performing, and educational opportunities year-round for ALL ages and ALL abilities including a youth with special needs program, and a retired senior citizen theatre program.
GCT holds open auditions before each production throughout the year for our many plays and musicals. Auditions do not guarantee casting.
Casting: We are committed to casting a group of actors that will reflect the people of our community. We are very happy to cast roles to include all races, colors, and all gender expressions.
Understudies: GCT will determine understudy needs for each particular show. If understudies are cast, understudies will have multiple rehearsals, as well as an Understudy Performance for friends and family. There is no guarantee of additional performance times, but it is a wonderful learning opportunity and experience.
Theatrical Intimacy:
Theatrical intimacy is any action on stage where the given circumstances of the scene or the overall production calls for touch, both physical and imaginative, or moments between actors of simulated sexuality or violence.
GCT has been incorporating Intimacy Directors & Coordinators (IDC) to improve processes and incorporate safer practices for theatrical intimacy in our rehearsals. All scenes with physical intimacy follow a specific set of staging and rehearsal protocols rooted in consent and safety for the actors.
Some roles in some productions may require some level of physical intimacy/touch as multiple characters demonstrate physical comfort/affection with one another (such as an embrace or close proximity). Characters who engage in specific moments of physical intimacy are noted before casting.
VIDEO AUDITIONS
If you are unable to attend the in-person audition, audition videos are always accepted, but MUST be received BEFORE the scheduled audition date.
Audition Videos for musicals and cabarets should be one minute or less (16-32 bars or one verse of a song) for musicals. Audition videos for plays should be a brief monologue fitting the tone and desired role of the show.

MANDATORY BACKGROUND CHECKS
All GCT Volunteers aged 18+ must have the required background checks on file at GCT. This includes performers, parents of performers, production team, musicians, tech crew, ushers, etc. The required clearances are the PA Child Abuse Clearance and PA State Criminal Background Check, which are FREE for volunteers. If you lived outside of PA in the past 10 years, you will also need to complete the FBI Criminal History Clearance. Clearances are good for five years. Please save or photocopy the clearance certificates and submit to info@gettysburgcommunitytheatre.com.
